Blog - Easter weekend edition

So this has been a crazy few days.

I got here on day 47 of the program and was still feeling the impact of those steroid injections - I am peeing constantly and am often thirsty, indicating that my blood sugars are running high.  The good news (I guess) is that I have thrown weight off like no one's business.  Today, the morning of Day 50, I weighed in at 207 which is a ridiculous weight to be at given where I was a week ago.  I felt like I was "due" a quick drop in 2-3 pounds as I had been weighing in around the same weight for 6 straight days even though I had been behaving very well, but this is a very significant loss and I would assume that as my body adjusts to the steroids I will get back to a more reasonable point.

I have kept up with the cardio up here; running two days and going for 25+ minute walks every day.  I did not do any mat work as I am still having problems with that trap and it is radiating down to my elbow.  I return to Canada tomorrow so I will get back on the mat work horse and clear up my backlog, I realy don't like being behind - particularly this far behind - the program there.

The only somewhat bad thing was that I didn't stick to the diet up here as well as I would have liked.  I was totally on point for breakfast, lunch and snacks but for dinner there was no way I could do the evening meal and be polite.  The first night my mother had made lasagna, the second we had swordfish and the third we had Easter ham so while I was off diet I portion controlled very strictly and only ate about 3/4s of a plate's worth every night.  I never got up feeling stuffed.  I did have a few glasses of wine with my dad though, the poor guy was drinking alone and that seemed unacceptable.

So a lot of weird stuff all colliding, looking forward to getting back to normalcy this week and gaining ground on the mat work.  No excuses.

Good news on the weight comming off.I hear you on the portion control. I have been outta Hong Kong for 3 weeks. We spent Easter Sunday at the American Club. I usually hit the buffett 2 maybe 3 trips in a meal. Sunday i got 2/3 of the way thru myplate and was full. I had to abandon my plate with food left on it so i could squeeze in some Pie. It was Easter Sunday after all :-)

So as I have whined about incessantly, I travel a lot for work which means that I am subject to the volatile gods of restaurant food. Now.....I think I am doing OK with this - I just had a nice vegetable curry and threw out about half of it and I feel nicely full - but the scale tomorrow morning will be the judge of that. But one area of the diet where I am struggling on a regular basis is the egg requirement. I am being asked to have one whole egg with breakfast and one egg w
