Day 5

I get that you aren't supposed to check your weight all the time, but yesterday I woke up and....yeah, this sounds weird....felt thinner.  I woke up feeling pretty good and my pants slid on a little easier.  I am sure that much of that is psychosomatic but still, I decided that this morning I would check it out.  So far I have lost about 3 pounds, which is a nice feeling.  Yeah yeah, yeah, I get that I am burning off crappy "recent weight gain" fat and there is a lot of variability in your morning weight, but still....it was nice to have that on the back of feeling thinner.  Would have sucked to have gained a few pounds.  (from here on out I will convert to kilos as I am the only one here still using the highly superior........ummm.....not-metric....system.  I started at 105.5 kilos and have now lost 1.5)

Food:  I am definitely feeling less hungry at mealtimes.  Kept it simple with a granola bar (I know, keep it unprocessed, cereals are bad...but my great grandmother was alive up until 1983 so she saw lots of crappy foods get developed.  Besides, this was a Kind bar and I had to rush to get on an early morning conference call) and a few cups of coffee plus two tangerines in the morning.

Lunch was a bunch of tangerines because they are in season and delicious, then a juice mix kind of like a small smoothie with half a roast beef and cheese wrap.

Dinner was a vegetable and lentil soup my daughter made, an incredibly small slice of homemade pizza my son had made and a small plate of good dried sausage and gruyere cheese, maybe 6 slices of each.

Exercise:  15 minutes on the exercise bike for 5 miles and then the mat exercises.  I did 4 sets of 8 for the lunges and 4 sets of 10 for the rows.

I'm surprised how little I have missed beer after the first few nights, but the weekend is coming so we'll see how that craving goes.  To date all is well.

So as I have whined about incessantly, I travel a lot for work which means that I am subject to the volatile gods of restaurant food. Now.....I think I am doing OK with this - I just had a nice vegetable curry and threw out about half of it and I feel nicely full - but the scale tomorrow morning will be the judge of that. But one area of the diet where I am struggling on a regular basis is the egg requirement. I am being asked to have one whole egg with breakfast and one egg w
