Day 92 - recovering

So I was full blown sick for the first time in a real long time - years probably.  I get sick as I have 3 kids and my wife brings homes nonsense from the office (she is a doctor, she doesn't manufacture illness or something like that) but it usually gets through me in 24 hours and usually a quick Dayquil and a few extra hours rest will get me through.  As often as not when I am sick I just work from home and all is well.

As it turned out it looks like I had a cold for about a week that never really got nasty until day 7, when it got real nasty.  By the time I got up to Canada it had turned into a full blown sinus infection and blew me out of the water.  As I mentioned before I actually spent an entire day where I didn't do a bit of work last Wednesday, which I don't think I have done due to illness in at least 10 years.

Long story short, I went an entire week from day 85 through today when all I did was one walk of 35 minutes.  No mat work.  I was good with the diet for the most part, but no exercise.

I am taking this week off - planned - to do projects around the house.  I am still dealing with the congestion and the sinus pain from the infection but I am on the right drugs plus I have my energy back.  At the end of the day - which was quite physically demanding - I went to do my jump rope and to be honest I thought my heart was going to explode.  My sinus was hurting as I was jumping, I had lost the "jumping rhythm" and kept getting tangled up and the mucus in my lungs was not helping.  Rough set, but I finished 600 (I didn't know at the time that 800 was on the docket for the day.....I do think I could have pounded those out though.....things kind of levelled off once I got through the first 300.  They sucked, but they didn't get any suckier.

Eating well, my weight is down (although that may be muscle) and I really want to push for these last 30 days.  Come on body, cut me some slack and let me hammer.

So as I have whined about incessantly, I travel a lot for work which means that I am subject to the volatile gods of restaurant food. Now.....I think I am doing OK with this - I just had a nice vegetable curry and threw out about half of it and I feel nicely full - but the scale tomorrow morning will be the judge of that. But one area of the diet where I am struggling on a regular basis is the egg requirement. I am being asked to have one whole egg with breakfast and one egg w
